Interview
to Mrs. Ada Stefanini in Carosi from Pian del Voglio
During
the war there was the card for the flours: wheat, etc. For
the family I tried to have the wheat to make bread, but
in the day it wasnt allowed to make it, so the only
useful time was the night. I used to take 10 kg of wheat
charging it on my shoulders and go to the mill (in Setta)
to make it grind.
In Mrs. Adas house there have always been every necessary
thing, but all thank to the hard work and the many sacrifices,
helping anywayalways the people knocking at her door for
a piece of bread.
Talking with Her, youcant do anything but admire the
person rich in spirit and conscious of the truthful values
of life.
The best teacher of life for the sons is the house (cradle
of values).
Also inreligious topics I cant do anything but admire
this lady who settled the roots of her principles in the
faith.
She wanted to tell us this prayer:
In bed, in bed I go
My soul I give to God,
I give it to God and to Saint John,
The enemy wont deceive me
Neither in the day nor in the night
Not even in point of death.
In bed, inbed I went
Jesus Christ I met and I met
Saint Silvester who made my bed
With four angels of God
Two bythe bottom two by the top
And the guardian angel always by my side.
At
the end of this short interview, my spirit is enjoying the
discovery in these two old people an unextinguishable richness
of wisdom. I really hope thatall the people who will give
a look to thislittle work of mine will find again the love
to the next one andoverall the love for the old, source
of wisdom, culture, tradition of our valleys and of the world.
